Part 19

Aarav woke up first and went downstairs for breakfast.

After some time, Siya woke up, glanced beside her, and realized he was already gone.

She freshened up and went downstairs.

As soon as he saw her, he paused for a second.

She greeted everyone and sat beside him. He looked at her briefly, then continued eating quietly.

Kavita watched them closely and realized something was off.

Paakhi noticed it too.

After breakfast, Aarav stood up without a word and left.

Outside the mansion, he suddenly realized he had forgotten his documents.

He called Paakhi.

“My documents are on the table. Can you bring them?”

Paakhi was about to go, but Kavita turned to Siya and said,

“Siya, you give them to him.”

“But Mom, Paakhi can—” Siya began.

“No,” Kavita said firmly. “You are his wife you should go.”

Siya sighed inwardly but nodded, she picked up the documents, and went outside.

Kavita smiled knowingly.

The door opened.

Aarav looked up and saw Siya walking toward him—her hair moving softly with every step.

She handed him the documents.

“Thank you,” he said.

She nodded and turned back.

But he didn’t realize that his lips had curved into a small smile.

He watched her for a moment… then left for the office.

A few days passed.

Siya never talked to him on her own.

When he asked something, she replied—nothing more.

It hurt him, but he understood.

She wasn’t wrong. She had been suffered a lot and suddenly things won't get normal.

Almost every day, he would forget something intentionally his phone, documents, keys—and call her to bring it to him.

At least that way, she came to him herself.

One day while giving him his keys , she said softly,

“You forget things too much how you are even running whole business.”

He looked at her and replied calmly,

“Yes.”

She went away, sighing quietly.

He smiled to himself and left for the office.

Today was Saturday.

Kavita called Siya.

“We’re going early,” Kavita said. “You’ll come with Aarav, okay?”

Siya nodded.

Paakhi added excitedly,

“Bhabhi, wear a saree. You’ll look beautiful.”

Siya nodded again.

“But you don’t know how to wear it,” Paakhi teased.

“I understand,” Siya replied. “I’ll wear it myself.”

Kavita smiled. “Fine.”

They left.

In the evening, Siya wandered around the mansion.

Aarav returned, she was sitting on the couch, scrolling through her phone.

She looked up.

“Be ready,” he said. “We’ll leave in an hour.”

She nodded and went to the room.

She took out a lavender saree and smiled faintly.

“It’s beautiful. I’ll wear this.”

He glanced at her.

“You’re wearing a saree?”

She nodded.

He changed his clothes and stepped out.

Inside the room, Siya opened her hair, did a light touch-up, wore her blouse and petticoat, and stood in front of the mirror.

Slowly, she began draping the saree.

She tried once.

Then twice more.

Still, the saree refused to settle.

She sighed softly.

“It was so easy that day… then why does it feel so difficult today?”

She opened YouTube, searched for a tutorial, and tried again—carefully following every step.

But once again, it failed.

After some time, she let out a tired breath.

“I can’t do this alone. I need help.”

Her eyes moved around the room.

No one was there.

Except him.

She glanced at the clock and frowned.

“It’s already late…”

Outside, Aarav was waiting.

His phone buzzed.

Siya calling.

He picked it up.

“Hello?”

“Come to the room,” she said.

He frowned. “Why?”

“Just come.”

The call disconnected.

He walked to the room and opened the door.

And froze.

Siya stood there in just her blouse and petticoat, the saree hanging loosely around her.

She looked frustrated, embarrassed—and slightly helpless.

“I’ve been trying for an hour,” she said quickly.

“Help me drape it.”

He swallowed.

“I… I don’t know how to.”

She turned to him, irritation flashing in her eyes.

“Just help me I said!”

He paused.

Then, slowly, stepped closer to her.

She handed him the saree and showed him the tutorial on her phone.

“See,” she said softly, “I’ve been trying like this.”

He watched carefully, his brows knitting in concentration.

“I understand,” he said.

But his heartbeat had already begun to race.

He knelt in front of her.

Siya inhaled sharply.

Slowly—very carefully—he began draping the saree, following her instructions step by step. She guided him in a low voice, telling him what to do next.

When his fingers brushed her waist, she gasped softly.

His touch was gentle, respectful… yet it sent a strange numbness through her. She swallowed hard, suddenly too aware of how close he was.

He felt it too.

He gulped, realising the distance between them had almost disappeared.

After a few moments, he stood up. Taking the pallu, he placed it over her shoulder and secured it neatly.

She looked down at herself, then turned toward him.

“Finally,” she breathed—and then smiled.

“Wow… it’s good.”

“Thank you ”

He didn’t reply.

He just looked at her, his heartbeat loud in his ears. She was looking breathtaking.

“Let’s go,” she said softly.

He nodded.

And together, they walked out of the room.
