They sat in the car when Siya suddenly looked at her wrists and frowned.
“I didn’t wear bangles,” she murmured.
She turned to him. “Wait, I’m coming.”
“Stop,” he said immediately. “I’ll bring them.”
She looked at him in surprise and said no need.
“You’re wearing a saree,” but he added softly. “It’s already heavy.”
Before she could say anything, he stepped out of the car and went back inside. She looked around quietly, letting out a small sigh.
he returned—with her bangles.
He sat beside her again.
“Give me,” she said, extending her hand.
“No,” he replied.
She blinked. “Why?”
He hesitated for a second, then looked at her.
“Can I make you wear them?”
She paused.
“Please,” he added gently.
She sighed, feeling strangely defeated—and slowly held out her hands.
He smiled.
Holding her hand carefully, he slid the bangles onto her wrist, one by one, making sure not to hurt her. She watched him silently, her gaze fixed on his face.

When he finished, he smiled softly.
Her heart skipped.
She quickly turned her face away.
Aarav noticed—and smiled to himself as he started the car.
The ride was quiet.
No one spoke.
Siya kept her face turned toward the window, watching the passing lights, while Aarav drove calmly—his lips still curved in that faint smile.
She noticed.
She turned to him. “Why are you smiling?”
He glanced at her briefly. “Nothing.”
She narrowed her eyes and huffed softly, turning away again.
Why is he smiling this much? she thought.
He just made me wear bangles… then why is my heartbeat acting like this?
She clenched her jaw.
No. I won’t give him the satisfaction I had nothing for him .
The car stopped at the venue.
Aarav stepped out first and extended his hand toward her.
She ignored it and got down on her own.
He chuckled quietly, shaking his head.
She started walking ahead, chin lifted.
Aarav walked beside her, unbothered.
Together, they entered the venue.
She looked around the venue.
People were laughing, talking, smiling—celebrating.
For a moment, her own wedding day flashed before her eyes.
Her vision blurred.
She quickly wiped her tears and murmured, “My makeup will get ruined I won't cry .”
Aarav noticed.
He understood.
He didn’t say anything.
Paakhi came rushing toward them. “You both came!”
She beamed at Siya. “Bhabhi, you’re looking very beautiful.”
Siya smiled softly. Aarav stood beside her.
Paakhi took them to Kavita, then proudly introduced Siya to everyone she met.
“This is my beautiful bhabhi,” Paakhi said again and again.
Siya smiled politely every time.
Aarav soon moved toward his cousins, talking casually. One of them noticed Siya standing alone.
“Aarav, introduce bhabhi to us,” a cousin teased.
Before he could react, another cousin walked up to Siya.
“Bhabhi, Aarav is calling you.”
She looked at Aarav.
He immediately turned his face away.
She sighed and walked toward him.
The cousins surrounded them. “We’re Aarav’s cousins,” one said cheerfully.
They introduced themselves one by one, and Siya smiled politely at each.
Then one of them grinned mischievously.
“So bhabhi, what do you like about Aarav?”
She answered instantly, “Nothing.”
Silence.
“Nothing?” they echoed.
She nodded calmly.
Aarav just smiled and shook his head.
Then one cousin turned to him. “And you, Aarav? What do you like about bhabhi?”
He smiled without hesitation.
“Everything.”
The cousins started hooting and laughing.
Siya glared at him.
He winked.
She sighed, completely embarrassed, her cheeks turning pink.
I need to get out of here, she thought.
Kavita called Siya.
“Mom, I’m coming,” Siya said quickly.
She turned to the cousins. “Bye, guys.”
And hurried away.
After reaching home, Siya quickly changed out of her saree.
Exhaustion wrapped around her as she lay down her mind replying Aarav care the way he looked at her now the way he make her wear bangles and saree she sighed she couldn't understand but whenever he gets close her heartbeat raise still she said " I have nothing for him and things can't be changed"
Siya was lying on the bed and then a sharp cramp tore through her abdomen.
She winced.
“Again…”
Slowly, she stood up, changed into something comfortable, and curled up on the bed. Her body trembled as the pain intensified. She hugged her knees close, closed her eyes—
And memories flooded in.
Flashback_
Siya was fourteen when it happened for the first time.
She didn’t understand what was wrong.
Her father was out of station. A maid noticed the blood and helped her, explaining softly what it meant.
“Mam, just take rest,” the maid said.
“Where is Veer?” Siya asked weakly.
“He’s playing outside.”
“Okay… tell him I’m not well.”
The maid hesitated. “Mam, this is not something to tell boys. It only happens to girls.”
“Why?” Siya asked innocently.
“You’ll understand when you grow up,” the maid said before leaving.
Siya lay curled up, clutching a hot water bag to her stomach.
A few minutes later, the door opened.
Veer walked in.
He was fourteen too.
The moment he saw her curled on the bed, his face filled with worry.
“Siya, what happened?”
“I don’t know,” she whispered. “It hurts so much… here.” She pointed to her stomach. “The maid said it’s called periods.”
Veer sat beside her and gently caressed her hair.
“Papa will come soon,” he said softly—but then paused, thinking.
What can I do till then?
Veer quietly left the room.
After some time, he returned—with his pockets full.
Chocolates. Different kinds.
He had searched what helps during periods and read that chocolates ease the pain. Not knowing which one was best, he bought all he could with his pocket money.
He held them out to her.
“Eat this. It’ll help.”
“Really?” she asked weakly.
He nodded.
She ate a piece, then tried to give him one.
“No,” he said quickly. “You eat you are not well .”
She smiled faintly.
And he smiled too.
Flashback Ends_
Tears slipped from Siya’s eyes.
Not just the first time—every time she had gone through this pain, Veer had been there.
Always with chocolates.
Always with care.
She hugged herself tighter as another cramp hit.
She cried silently—not so much because of the pain,
but because this time Veer wasn’t there.
And never would be.
the door opened.
Aarav entered.
The moment he saw her curled up on the bed, his steps halted.
“Siya… are you okay?” he asked, worry clear in his voice.
“I’m okay,” she whispered.
But he saw it—
the pale face, the trembling hands, the way she was holding herself.
His phone buzzed.
He glanced at it once… then walked out of the room without saying anything.
Her heart sank.
No one cares for me, she thought bitterly.I am none's priority now she remembers how veer and her father always stand with her care for her tears in her eyes she thought
And the ones who did… they’re gone.
She turned her face to the pillow.
“Veer bhai… I miss you,” she whispered—and finally broke down.
After some time, the door opened again.
Siya felt a presence.
She slowly opened her eyes.
