Part 5

A week passed in silence, but Jungkook’s thoughts weren’t silent at all. Finally, one afternoon, he ordered,

“Call Mr. Min to my office.”

Within the hour, Min stepped inside Jeon Corporation, his presence calm yet commanding. Both men exchanged their usual formal greetings before diving into business.

For the next half hour, their discussion revolved around profits, territories, and future moves. Finally, Jungkook leaned back in his chair, fingers tapping against the desk, and said,

“Mr. Min, this deal has been… profitable for both sides. To mark its success, I am arranging a party this Saturday.” His smirk lingered as he added, almost casually, “I would like you to attend. And if possible…” His eyes glinted. “…bring your daughter as well.”

Mr. Min gave a polite nod. “Of course.”

The meeting ended with a firm handshake, and Jungkook watched him leave, his smirk never fading.

On the drive back, Min sat silently, his mind unsettled. Why did he specifically mention Rose?

He thought back. Perhaps… because I sent her with that main file last time. That must be it. Nothing else.

Convincing himself, he exhaled and leaned back in his seat. The car pulled into the grand Min mansion.

But deep inside, a question still echoed.

Why my daughter?

That evening, the grand Min mansion was silent except for the faint music drifting from Rose’s room upstairs. She was lying lazily on her bed, scrolling her phone, when a knock came at the door.

Without even looking up, she said, “Come in.”

Mr min stepped inside, still in his business suit, his expression calm but thoughtful. Rose glanced at him briefly, then went back to her screen.

“Rose,” he began, his tone softer than usual, “this Saturday, Jeon Jungkook is hosting a party for our deal. He has invited me… and he has specifically asked for you to come as well.”

At that, Rose finally looked up, one eyebrow arched in disbelief. “Me? Why me?” she scoffed, tossing her phone aside. “I don’t even like these boring business parties. Everyone there talks about money, fake smiles, and fake friendships. Not my type.”

Mr. Min sighed. “I know you don’t like such things. But this is important. Jungkook requested it himself. As my daughter, I want you there.”

Rose smirked and crossed her arms, leaning back against the headboard. “So Mr. Perfect Jeon Jungkook is suddenly interested in my presence? Strange. Very strange.”

Her father’s voice hardened slightly. “Rose. This is not optional. You will come with me.”

She rolled her eyes dramatically but then smiled to herself, almost mischievous. “Fine. If I have to go, I’ll go. But I’ll go in my way. Don’t expect me to act like one of those delicate, polite daughters.”

Mr. Min shook his head with a small chuckle, already used to her stubbornness. “Just be presentable, that’s all I ask.”

As he left the room, Rose leaned back, staring at the ceiling. A small smirk tugged her lips.

“So… Jeon Jungkook wants me at his party? Why I will be there just to get bored”She sighed.

The next day inside Jeon Corporation, Jungkook sat in his cabin, leaning casually in his chair while Easton stood with a file in hand.

“Sir, everything for the deal party is being arranged. Guest lists, venue, security, catering—”

“Hmm,” Jungkook interrupted, a small smirk on his lips. “And what about Mr. Min?”

Easton replied, “He confirmed. He will attend with his daughter.”

At that, Jungkook’s smirk widened. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. “Good. That’s exactly what I wanted.”

Easton frowned, tilting his head slightly. “Sir, with due respect, why are you so interested in that girl? She’s arrogant, disrespectful, and she clearly doesn’t care about you—or anyone, for that matter.”

Jungkook chuckled lowly, his eyes dark with amusement. “That’s what makes her different. Everyone bows, everyone fears, everyone tries to please me. But her… she ignores me. And I don’t like being ignored.”

Easton sighed, already knowing where this was heading. “So you’re planning something, aren’t you?”

Jungkook stood up, buttoning his black suit jacket with his usual graceful dominance. He walked toward the tall glass window, gazing out at the city lights.

“At the party,” he said slowly, “I’ll make sure Rose Min doesn’t walk away so easily this time. She might think she can escape with her arrogance… but sooner or later, she will have to look at me.”

His smirk deepened, the anticipation in his eyes clear.

Easton muttered under his breath, “This is going to be trouble.”

Jungkook only chuckled, his gaze fixed on the horizon. “Trouble, Easton… is exactly what I enjoy.”
