Meanwhile, Rose woke up after he left. She stretched, rubbing her eyes, then smirked faintly. “Perfect. The devil is gone.”
She freshened up, had her breakfast, and then walked into the massive library of the mansion. Her mind wasn’t on the books—it was on him. His forceful kiss, his obsession, his arrogance.
You think I’ll just stay silent, Jungkook? she thought, her fingers trailing across the bookshelves. No. I’ll use your own habits, your own weaknesses against you. You hate disorder? Fine. You crave control? Then I’ll snatch it away. You want me to bow? I’ll make you regret ever thinking I could be tamed.
Her lips curved into a mischievous smile as the seed of her revenge started to take root.
The next evening, Jungkook sat in his study, eyes fixed on his laptop screen, fingers tapping swiftly across the keyboard. Easton stood at his post outside, sharp and alert. When Rose approached, his posture stiffened immediately.
She stopped in front of him, arms crossed. “I want to meet him. Open the door.”
Easton hesitated. He knew her presence always sparked trouble, but refusing her wasn’t an option. With a reluctant bow, he pushed the door open.
Rose stepped inside. Jungkook raised his head, his lips curling into a smirk the moment he saw her. He leaned back in his chair, watching her with amused curiosity.
“What happened, wifey?” he asked lazily, his deep voice laced with mockery. “Missing me already?”
Her eyes narrowed. “Nothing like that. I just came here… to take my revenge.”
Jungkook chuckled darkly, “Revenge, hmm? You mean about that kiss?” His smirk widened, eyes glittering with mischief. “So what’s your plan? You’ll kiss me forcefully too, the way I did that night?”
Instead of answering, Rose smirked. Her silence was louder than words. She began walking toward his table, her steps slow, deliberate, almost taunting.
Jungkook’s gaze followed her, amused and intrigued. He leaned forward, resting his chin against his hand, eyes locked on her every move. “Ahh… now this will be interesting.”
Rose circled him slowly, her presence almost predatory. Jungkook kept his eyes on her, though one hand still lingered on his laptop. His lips curved into a knowing smirk.
“Wow, wifey… you always manage to impress me,” he drawled.
She smirked back, but her silence was dangerous.
Without warning, she grabbed the glass of water from the table, lifted it—and splashed it all over his laptop.
The screen went black instantly.
Jungkook froze, his smirk fading into stunned silence.
Rose leaned in, her tone calm yet cutting. “Easton! Come fast and take this laptop to repair. If not… everything inside will vanish.”
Easton rushed inside immediately, bowing, his eyes wide with fear. Rose didn’t wait for his reaction. She turned and walked out of the study as if nothing had happened.
For the first time, Jeon Jungkook sat speechless—his stunned gaze fixed on the dripping, lifeless laptop.
Then, slowly, the corner of his mouth twitched upward into a dark smile. “Ahh… this girl,” he muttered under his breath.
Easton carefully lifted the laptop, trembling, while Jungkook leaned back in his chair, his jaw tight, his eyes dark. For a long moment, the study was heavy with silence.
“Sir… I’ll take care of this immediately,” Easton said nervously.
“Leave,” Jungkook ordered, his voice dangerously calm.
As the door closed, he leaned forward, elbows resting on the desk, fingers steepled under his chin. His smirk returned, sharper this time.
“She really dared…” he whispered to himself, almost amused. His mind replayed Rose’s bold eyes, the way she walked out without a shred of fear.
A dark chuckle slipped from his lips. She thinks she can challenge me…
He stood up, loosening his tie, his expression unreadable. Instead of exploding in anger, he poured himself a drink and stared out the window.
“I was planning to tame her slowly,” he muttered, sipping his glass. “But now… maybe I should change the game.”
His phone buzzed with work messages, but he ignored them. All he could think about was his young wife, who had just declared war against him inside his own mansion.
And for the first time in a long while, Jeon Jungkook wasn’t angry at being challenged—he was intrigued.
