Part 47

Siya was sitting in her room, writing something carefully in her diary.

Just then her phone buzzed.

She glanced at the screen, and her expression changed immediately. Without wasting a second, she picked up the phone and called back.

The call connected.

“Mam,” the man on the other side said, “the Mittals have made their first move.”

Siya paused.

“Goenkas’ three major partners have broken their contracts with them overnight, and their share prices are already dropping.”

Siya sighed softly.

“And from Goenka’s side?” she asked calmly. “Has any move been made?”

“Not yet, mam,” the man replied.

“Alright,” she said quietly.

Then she asked, “Raghav?”

“Sir will arrive soon, mam. Maybe within two weeks.”

“Fine.”

She lowered her voice slightly. “And about the Mittals—”

Just then the door opened.

Kavita walked into the room.

Siya immediately paused and hung up the call.

Kavita noticed the phone in her hand. “Important call?”

Siya quickly shook her head. “No, mom.”

Then siya said casually, “Actually… tomorrow I have to go somewhere.”

Kavita looked at her curiously. “Where?”

“To my old house,” Siya replied. “And then I’ll meet a friend. It’s been a long time since I saw her.”

Kavita nodded. “Okay, fine.”

Then kavita gestured toward the bed. “Come, sit.”

Siya walked over and sat beside her.

Kavita sat next to her quietly.

Siya,” Kavita said softly, looking at her face, “is everything alright?”

Siya looked at her and nodded. “Yes, mom.”

Kavita gently held her hand.

“You don’t have to hide things from me,” she said kindly. “Ever since you came here… sometimes you look lost.”

Siya lowered her eyes but remained silent.

Kavita sighed softly. “Whatever is troubling you… remember, you’re not alone in this house.”

Siya nodded. “I know, mom.”

Kavita smiled faintly. “You can share everything with us.”

Siya nodded again.

After a brief pause, Kavita added, “And Aarav…”

Siya paused and lowered her eyes.

Kavita looked at her carefully. “I won’t interfere between you two. You are husband and wife, and some things are meant to stay between you.”

Kavita paused before continuing.

“But Siya… whatever happened in the past… try to move forward.”

Siya looked at her.

“Things may not be forgotten,” Kavita said gently, “but they can be moved past.”

Siya took a slow breath. “Mom… the past can’t be forgotten. At least not like this.”

“I know,” Kavita replied softly. “But holding onto it forever will only hurt you.”

Then kavita added, “And Aarav… he is trying.”

Siya looked at her again.

“He is trying to be the man you deserve,” Kavita said quietly.

Siya stayed silent for a moment.

Finally siya nodded slowly.

Kavita smiled warmly.

Later that night, the Goenka mansion was quiet.

The sound of a car stopping outside broke the silence.

Aarav walked into the house, loosening his tie slightly after a long day at the office.

As he stepped into the living room, he saw Kavita sitting there.

“Mom? You’re still awake?” he asked.

Kavita looked at him calmly. “I was waiting for you.”

Aarav paused for a moment and then walked closer, sitting on the sofa across from her.

“Everything alright?” he asked.

Kavita studied his face carefully.

“How is Siya?” she asked suddenly.

Aarav looked slightly surprised.

“She’s fine,” he replied. “Why?”

Kavita sighed softly.

“She tries to act strong… but sometimes she looks very lost.”

Aarav lowered his eyes for a moment.

“I know,” he said quietly.

Kavita looked at him seriously. “Aarav… what happened between you two in the past?”

He leaned back slightly.

“Mom, some things are better left unsaid.”

“But the past is still standing between you two,” Kavita replied. “I can see it.”

Aarav stayed silent.

After a moment, he spoke.

“She hates me.”

Kavita frowned. “No.”

Aarav looked at her.

“She’s angry,” Kavita corrected. “There’s a difference.”

Aarav let out a faint breath.

“I’m trying,” he said.

Kavita nodded slowly. “I know you are.”

He looked down at his hands.

“But sometimes… it feels like no matter what I do, she keeps pushing me away.”

Kavita’s voice softened.

“Then don’t stop trying.”

Aarav looked up.

“She’s been hurt deeply,” Kavita continued. “It will take time.”

There was a brief silence.

Then Kavita added with a small smile,

“But if I know my son well… you’re not someone who gives up easily.”

A faint smirk appeared on Aarav’s lips.

“No,” he said quietly. “I’m not.”

Kavita stood up.

“Good,” she said. “Because Siya needs someone who won’t walk away.”

She walked past him and stopped for a moment.

“And Aarav…”

He looked at her.

“Whatever mistakes happened before… make sure you don’t repeat them.”

Aarav nodded slowly.

“I won’t.”

Kavita left for her room.

Aarav sat there alone for a moment.

Then his gaze slowly moved toward the staircase that led to Siya’s room.

A quiet determination appeared in his eyes.

“No matter how much you run from me, Siya…” he murmured softly.

“I’m not letting you go.”

Aarav entered the room quietly.

He paused when he saw Siya lying on the bed, already asleep.

For a moment, he just stood there watching her.

Then he walked closer and gently moved a strand of hair away from her face, tucking it behind her ear.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

He quickly changed his clothes.

Instead of the bed, he walked to the couch and lay down.

For now, she didn’t want him beside her.

But he knew something.

Soon… the distance between them would disappear.

With that thought, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

The next morning, Siya woke up early.

She sat up and looked toward the couch.

It was empty.

She frowned slightly and picked up her phone.

“Seven?” she murmured.

“He usually leaves for the office after nine.”

For a moment she thought about going back to sleep.

But then siya paused.

I should ask him about the business situation.

She washed her face quickly and walked downstairs.

A maid saw her and greeted respectfully. “Good morning, ma’am.”

“Where is sir?” Siya asked.

“Sir is in the gym, ma’am.”

Siya nodded and walked straight toward the gym.

When she reached the door, she paused.

Aarav was doing push-ups.

Her eyes widened slightly.

Only then did she notice how perfectly built his body was. Sweat glistened on his face and neck as he continued exercising effortlessly.

She let out a quiet breath.

Just then she noticed something else.

A maid was inside the gym, supposedly cleaning.

But instead of cleaning… the maid was clearly staring at Aarav.

Siya’s expression changed immediately.

Annoyance flickered across her face.

Siya walked inside, slightly flustered.

Aarav stood up and looked at her, surprised.

Then he smirked.

“You? Here?” he said teasingly. “But you never wake up early.”

“So what?” Siya replied quickly. “I woke up today. My choice.”

Aarav chuckled softly and walked toward the treadmill.

The maid was still looking at him.

Siya turned sharply toward her.

“Hey,” she said firmly. “Why are you cleaning here right now?”

Aarav paused, watching the scene with amusement.

The maid looked nervous. “Ma’am… I was just cleaning.”

Siya crossed her arms.

“Rooms are cleaned when no one is there,” Siya said calmly. “You can come later.”

The maid immediately bowed her head. “Yes, ma’am.”

She quickly left the gym.

Aarav looked at Siya, clearly entertained.

“Mrs. Goenka,” he said with a grin, “what happened? She was just cleaning.”

Siya looked at him and replied without hesitation,

“Then she can do the cleaning after you leave.”
