Both of them were sitting on the couch.
Shyam took a deep breath.
Siya looked at him, her eyes filled with urgency.
“Uncle… I read in Mom’s diary that her marriage was fixed with someone else, not Dad. Tell me what really happened. I want to know everything.”
Shyam looked at her for a moment.
“The truth is bitter, Siya.”
Siya didn’t hesitate and said “I’m ready. Whatever it is.”
Shyam nodded slowly and said “Yes… your mother’s marriage was fixed.”
He paused.
“But it never happened.”
Siya’s brows frowned slightly.
“On the day of her wedding… your mother ran away.”
Siya froze.
Her mind went blank.
Mom… ran away?
She tried to process it.
Her mother… the same woman she always imagined as calm, gentle, obedient…
“She ran?” Siya whispered, almost to herself.
Shyam continued,
“Because of this, Abhishek Mittal became furious.”
His tone grew heavier.
“The Mittals felt humiliated. People mocked them… saying their daughter ran away on her own wedding day.”
Siya lowered her gaze.
Her fingers clenched slightly.
“From the beginning,” Shyam added, “the Mittals were known to be dangerous… people even called them heartless.”
Silence filled the room for a moment.
Siya’s thoughts were conflicted.
She slowly looked up and said “Uncle… even if it was wrong in their eyes…” she said softly, but firmly,
“doesn’t everyone have the right to marry the person they choose?”
Her voice carried both pain… and quiet defiance.
Shyam nodded slowly.
“Yes… you’re right,” he said. “But in the Mittal family, it was never allowed.”
He took a deep breath and said “And on the day of the wedding… when everything was already prepared… your mother’s decision became the worst nightmare for them.”
Siya swallowed hard.
Her hands trembled slightly.
Then suddenly—
A realization struck her and she thought .That’s why… they came on my wedding day…
Her breath hitched.
Everything started connecting.
Her fingers tightened in her lap.
It was planned… all of it…already before.
“They already knew all of this…” she whispered.
“And I… I had no idea…”
She shook her head slowly, still in shock.
she looked at Shyam again.
“Uncle… after that… where did Mom and Dad go?”
She paused.“The Mittals were powerful… couldn’t they find them?”
Shyam exhaled slowly.
“Your parents acted fast.”
He continued,
“First, they got married in a temple.”
Siya’s eyes softened for a moment.
Then Shyam added,
“And from there… Rajveer had already arranged everything.Plane tickets were booked in advance.”
Siya looked at him, stunned.
“They didn’t wait even for a moment,” Shyam said.
“They left immediately… and came straight to US.”
Siya paused.
Her mind filled with images she had never seen…
but now could clearly imagine.
Her parents… running away… choosing each other against everything.
For a moment, her heart softened thinking about her parents love and care for each other.
But then—
The reality of what followed still remained unanswered.
And far more dangerous.Siya sat silently, lost in her thoughts.
Now… every piece was slowly falling into place.
Every unanswered question… every strange incident…
It all started making sense.
Shyam looked at her and continued,
“In the US, your parents lived happily.”
A faint softness appeared on his face and said “But after some time… your mother got pregnant.”
Siya’s eyes lifted toward him.
“She told Rajveer with so much happiness,” Shyam said gently,
“that maybe… after this… her brother would forgive them.”
He paused.
“Not for them… but for the child.”
Siya’s eyes filled with tears.
“Your mother was very innocent,” Shyam added softly.
Siya nodded slowly.
Shyam continued,
“But Rajveer’s work was growing at that time. He had responsibilities.”
“Rajveer told her… we should wait for a few years ‘I can’t just leave everything suddenly.’”
Siya listened quietly.
“Then Rajveer smiled and said,” Shyam continued,
‘Don’t worry… I also want our children to grow up in their own country… with love…
just wait a little rajveer told to her mother.
Siya’s lips curved into a faint smile through her tears.
Her mother had agreed.
Time passed.
“And then… you both were born,” Shyam said.
Siya closed her eyes for a moment, imagining it.
Her parents… happy… complete.
“Rajveer was very happy,” Shyam added.
A tear slipped down her cheek.
But then—
Her expression changed.
“Uncle… the Mittals?” siya asked softly.
Shyam’s face grew serious again and he said “They were searching for your parents all this time.”
Siya swallowed hard.
Years of silence… but never forgotten.
“Then a few more years passed,” Shyam continued.
“You and Veer were around five years old.”
Siya listened carefully, her heart tightening.
Shayam said “Your father finally decided it was time to return.”
“He thought… now he could face everything.”
“He believed he could talk to Abhishek… make him understand… and fix things.”
Shyam paused.
Then added quietly—
“Because once… Abhishek Mittal was not just your mother’s brother…”
Shyam looked at Siya.
“He was also Rajveer’s best friend.”
Siya took a deep breath.
Her fingers were still trembling.
“Then… what happened after they returned?” siya asked softly.
Shyam looked at her, his expression heavy.
“They came back… and all of you started living in the Singhania mansion.”
He paused.
“Then one day… gathering all her courage… your mother went to the Mittal house.”
Siya froze.
Her hands curled tightly in her lap.
Her heart pounded as she imagined the scene.
Flashback _
Her mother stood at the entrance of the Mittal mansion.
Everyone inside turned to look at her.
But she didn’t stop.
She walked in.
Her eyes searched—
And then she saw him.
Abhishek.
He was talking on the phone.
Her eyes filled with tears.
“Bhai…” she called out, her voice breaking.
Abhishek stopped.
Slowly, he turned.
The moment he saw her—
His expression hardened.
“You shouldn’t have come here.”
His voice was low… calm… but far more dangerous than anger.
Her mother’s tears fell instantly.
“No, bhai… please forgive me,” she pleaded.
Abhishek’s jaw clenched.
“Leave,” he said coldly.
“Before I forget that you’re my sister .”
His words cut deeper than anything.
From a distance, two little children were watching.
A small voice whispered, “Who is she?”
The older one replied quietly,
“She’s our bua… but she ran away on her wedding day.”“Because of her… Papa could never lift his head again.”
Siya’s breath hitched.
Raj.
Akhil.
They were just children back then.
But even they carried the bitterness.
Abhishek stood there, his eyes filled with rage… humiliation… and wounded pride.
Her mother slowly stopped crying.
For a moment, she just looked at him.
“Forgive me…” she whispered one last time.
But Abhishek turned his face away.
That was his answer.
Broken… defeated… she walked out of the house.
She returned to the mansion, tears still falling.
Rajveer saw her and immediately walked to her.
“Why did you go there alone?” he asked, concerned.
“He is my brother…” she said weakly.
“I just wanted him to forget everything… and accept us.”
She wiped her tears.
“It’s hard Rajveer… but not impossible.”
Rajveer looked at her for a moment.
Then gently said,
“It’s okay things will get better soon "
